Hot air brushes should only be used on towel dry or dry hair. It works similarly to a flat iron, which you should NEVER use on wet hair! Wet hair is more susceptible to damage when styled at high temperatures. 

In the same way that water expands when heated, the water in your hair also expands when heated. When water molecules expand inside your hair, they can damage the shaft, resulting in split ends or even burning your hair. That doesn’t sound nice, does it?

Can you use a hot air brush on wet hair?

Unless you’re using a blow dryer, styling tools are not intended for use on wet hair. These include flat irons, curling irons, wands, straightening brushes, crimpers, and hot brushes. 

However, using a hot brush on wet or damp hair is a big no-no! To achieve straight tresses that are effortless and safe, make sure your hair is absolutely dry and free of residue or build-up to avoid heat damage. 

The hot air styler does not have the drying power as the regular blow dryer. For that reason, it shouldn’t be used on soaking wet hair. So, make sure to dry your hair properly before picking up the hot air brush.
